summer loving

I am so super pumped for Summer - in my excitement I decided to compile a bit of my summer style inspirations for the coming season.

Accented with of course this month's flower feature & everyone's favourite, the Peony Rose. Only blooming at the height of Spring here in Australia, in November each year. Peonies with their large blowsy, rose-like, fragrant flowers are among the most romantic plants in the world. There are two forms, tree and herbaceous species. The peony is among the longest-used flowers in ornamental culture and is one of the smallest living creature national emblems in China. Along with the plum blossom, it is a traditional floral symbol of China. It is also known as "flower of riches and honour," and is used symbolically in Chinese art.

baby blue hydrangea hue

As the summer heat kicks in I am finding my roses and peonies aren't quite lasting the little life they're known for. But on driving up Sydney's Northern Beaches I was taken by the blue hues of Hydrangea blooms & bushes flourishing in the summer sun and on mass!!!!
With thanks to Madonna's recent hate for the Hydrangea they are now on of the most in demand flowers not to mention most expensive! So those lucky enough to have them in you backyard, bring that blue love in for all to see!!! Bring back the humble Hydrangea I say!!!

I want to be a surfer this summer

I absolutely love how these floral and beachy prints are mix and matched together and back with jewels, gems wristbands and wetsuits. The perfect summer shake up for instant cool!

Not normally a huge fan of the hibiscus nor the frangipani but seeing them transformed by the likes of Stella McCartney, Balenciaga and Givenchy for their resort 11/12 collections I am so ready to don these prints and bursts of colours back with bikinis & boards, regularly diving into the ocean for swims and surf's this Sydney summer!!!
